2 months!

Little Andrew is 2 months old!
He had his 2 month check up and is growing up so fast.
12 lbs 7 oz 51%
23.5 inches long 70%
16 cm head 89%
He sleeps like a champ! from about 10 until 5:30ish then sleeps until 7:30.
The little mister was quite the angel on our incredibly long drive to Arkansas then Missouri, then back to Texas (about 17 hrs)
He smiles constantly and "talks" to us.
He absolutely loves watching Amelia and I know he can't wait to play with her :) they have a special connection.

Amelia is growing soooo fast! She is loving all things make believe.  Everyday she has several imaginary friends and I have to feed them all lunch, buckle them in the car, etc.  She loves learning new things and playing a ton.  She absolutely loved the BYU football game.  We had incredibly close seats (row 9) and she would stand on her chair and chant "BY. BY. BY. BY" everyone loved it. She also talks about Cosmo constantly and wants me to tell her all about him all the time.  I am so grateful for this special little one.  She is my biggest helper and best buddy.  She tells me things that make me know she is so incredibly close to the veil (not in a weird way).  She teaches me a lot and I strive each day to teach her everything she needs to know.

Amelia turns 3!

Amelia had a great birthday! Grandma and Grandpa Dunn came and celebrated with us- she was in heaven!! I can't believe my little millster is already 3.  It feels like just yesterday she made me a mother. We planned her birthday for weeks before the big day! She wanted a donut for breakfast, to go to the zoo, have tacos for dinner, and a minnie mouse cake :)  She went to bed awesome the night before because I told her the birthday fairy was going to come decorate, haha.  I decorated her door with streamers and the kitchen.  She was so excited when she woke up it was FINALLY her birthday! except she tells me she still wants to be 2 (starting a little young for that, haha)

I asked her some questions and here were her answers.

We were glad dad took the day off work.  It was the best day ever!

My little Millie is seriously the best little helper and best big sister.  I just love her like crazy.
She loves playing and is really good at using her imagination!
She recognizes about half of the letters and can count to 15.
She will color and draw for hours and hours and always tells me she is an artist like her grandpa.
She knows the first article of faith and we learn a new primary song each week so she knows lots of those too.
She loves nursery and is excited to go to the big kid primary :) eeeeek!
We are all excited to see what the next year will bring! Happy Birthday Millie!

Andrew 1 month!

This is a little late but Andrew turned 1 month on 10/14/15.  I took the picture that day and that's all that matters :)

He smiles all the time now and I just love it.

He loves Amelia and she loves him too. He watches and watches her. I know exactly what I sound like because I just listen to Millie. I will hear her say things like, "It's ok little mister, Amelia is here" "Hiiiii  Andrew, you are just so cute"... all in the same high pitched voice I use.

He has slept through the night (until 5 am) a couple times.

He is starting to tolerate tummy time for longer than 2 minutes at a time.

He loves being held and he really knows his mama's arms :)

At his one month appointment
weight: 10 lbs 3.5 oz --53%
height: 23 inches -- 98% !!

Andrew might be a "wild thing" for Halloween.  "Let the wild rumpus start!"

Andrew Robert

Wow! It has been a year and a half since I have updated, eek.

My pregnancy was pretty good overall. I was pretty nauseous early on and couldn't chew gum (the tell all that I'm preggers). Around 20 weeks I started having crazy heart palpitations for hours and hours at a time, I would just cry and cry because my arms would go numb and I would have a hard time breathing. I knew I was going to die, haha. The dr decided I should switch allergy medicine from Claritin to Zyrtek and that seemed to do the trick (for the most part)... weird I know.  Then around 30 weeks I got an insane ear infection. I got one when I was pregnant with Amelia too- they are the worst. My favorite thing about being pregnant is feeling the baby move (even late at night ;) ) and not feeling guilty about indulging every now and again :)

On September 13 at 6:00 pm I went into the hospital to get Cervadil. I was only dialated to a one so this was supposed to get things moving before they started the Pitocin. It was a long, long crampy night and guess what in the morning I was still a one! I wanted to bawl. They stared Pitocin around 8 and around 10 (I think) my dr came in to break my water. I was only a 2 and getting my water broke hurt like crazy!!! My nurse said there was some scheduled c-sections so I should get an epidural soon if I thought I needed it. My contractions hurt but not way bad but I decided to get the epidural then anyway.  Best thing ever. I love epidurals, seriously it was the best I had felt in 9 months!! Well fast forward a little while and wham! I started having the most intense contractions. Austin pushed the epidural button for me because I was in so much pain I couldn't do it myself. I was just bawling and bawling. Austin paged the nurse and asked if I could get more medicine into my epidural or whatever they do. It felt like forever (it was probably like only 10 minutes) and the anesthesiologist came and increased the meds. My nurse came in and decided to check me and I was an 8!!!! I went from a 2 to an 8 in like no time at all. Pretty soon I was feeling the urge to push. She called my dr,  they started prepping my room and before I knew it, it was time to push. Austin told me he'd give me a thousand bucks if I pushed him out first try. We laughed about what we'd each do with $1,000 and I decided it was a good downpayment for our next disneyland trip :) the dr came in and after 2 or 3 pushes I could see his head, it was so scary- he was deep deep purple and I started freaking out a little. The cord was wrapped really tightly around his neck with his little hand wrapped in it too (against his neck). I knew I needed to get him out now! So from practice push to holding my baby was only 7 minutes-whew! It was so nice to just hold my little guy and I was so overwhelmed with love for him. He has born at 2:37 pm and weighed 7 lbs 13 oz and was 21 inches long.  I'm really grateful for this sweet little boy in our family. There is nothing more rewarding than having my entire little family together. I seriously love being a mother even though sometimes it is incredibly hard and tiring. The story behind Andrew's name is pretty cool but I will save that for another day :)

Right after Andrew was born.

Meeting Amelia for the first time. She loves telling everyone she is a "big sister"

Headed home! First family pic :)

Update.

Today Amelia is one and a half years old!!!
No longer my tiny baby, she really is a little toddler.

I want to write down some cute things about her so I don't forget :)
Amelia loves to go for runs and bike rides (she always falls asleep though)

She loves going to the library and picking out books (her favorite lately is Piggy Pie Poe)

If she really likes something you are doing she will say "one more, one more"
---this usually pertains to reading Piggy Pie Poe over and over. Singing the Banana Song (minions) over and over. Singing "I had a little turtle...." "Let it go" (Miranda style) and "wheels on the bus" over and over. Sometimes it's one more tuchtie (cookie) and lots of times it's one more "I'm gonna getcha"

Amelia loves to play with her little people castle and her favorite characters lately are Grumpy, the beast, and Rapunzel.

She is starting to say a lot more words: please, thank you, airplane, cheese, milk, apple juice, moo, tweet tweet, woof, meow, grandma, grandpa, Kali, Bella, and many more.

ever since I quit nursing Amelia I just hold her during her nap. I think after the miscarriage and not nursing her I just want to soak up as much time with her as I can before she is to big to hold. I usually just read or nap during this 2 hours. Isn't she a cutie :)

Today after her nap I got her some milk and she said "brrrr, mama" so I asked her "do you want it warmed up?" "Yeass" nodding her head. So I put it in the microwave and went and did something forgetting about it. Well Amelia came and got me, "mama. mama. beeeeep, beeeeeep" like 'hello mom my milk is done! Can you get it....' It is so funny how she tries so hard to communicate with her limited vocabulary.

Austin had to work late the night of The Women's broadcast so I took her with me. They sang this really beautiful rendition of I am a child of God in lots of different languages. At the end of the song she yelled "YAY!!" And clapped her hands. Everyone around us laughed of course. It was pretty cute. She absolutely loves that song and she truly knows she is a child of God!

One day I was really scrubbing the house and Amelia was so tired she got a kitchen towel out of the drawer and laid down on the tile. haha

Sometimes a girl needs lots of hair bows.

One morning I made this little cardboard bed for Amelia's dolls. I was going to paint it white with little flowers, it was going to be the cutest thing. I spent probably like an hour and a half cutting and measuring this cardboard. When I showed it to Amelia she was so excited she sat right on it with Bedelia baby. Yup cardboard won't hold a 20 lb girl... haha needless to say we ended up throwing it away.

First official nursery day! Seems like yesterday we were blessing her. I think it's time for another ;)

The other day Amelia insisted she was too busy to take a nap. She just had tons of work to do... she thinks the windowsill is her desk... We went and visited Austin at work the other day and Amelia got to sit in his desk so I think this is where that came from :) She seriously played there for like 2 hours and did not want me to play with her :( when I would walk in she would say "bye bye mama"

Oh and we went to Disneyland... That deserves its own post though :)
Apologies to those who follow me on the gram. (Aka: Instagram. Mom I know you would have cAlled me and asked me what the gram is ;) ) You have probably seen all these pics before. If you don't follow me, well do! :)

Peace out gangstas.

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

One cold Sunday afternoon Amelia and I laid on the ottoman and Austin put all the blankets in the house on us. We couldn't move! It was like 10 pounds of blankets...

I call this our indoor beach party. She loves it.

Oh my, she is just my best little friend. I said "show me your teeth" and this is what I got :)

Painting Grandpa's toenails... or maybe his foot

Homemade pretzel rolls. They were heavenly!

Amelia likes to slurp her milk out of her cereal. Austin and I don't do this- it is funny she starting doing it on her own.

Amelia never falls asleep in my arms (well almost never) so I sit and hold her for like 2 hrs when she does. The day will come too quickly when she won't want me to hold her :(

New sun hat!

Amelia loves her new car seat!!

At the hospital. Austin and Amelia took really good care of me! Amelia never left my side, it was so so cute.

In the insta care waiting room. Can we seriously catch a break?!

One day I was mopping the floor and Amelia had gone in the pantry and lined up all the cans against the wall it was so cute.

She conked while coloring. Times like this I'm glad the high chair reclines ;)

One day I will post a real post :) with a story and pictures the whole works. For now this smorgasbord will have to do

Day 23.

Day 23.

Today I am grateful for Kali Lana! She came for a much needed visit :) we absolutely love having her here. She is so fun and hilarious! I have missed her soooo much. I need my crafting/sewing buddy back!!!

She wore Amelia completely out :)
